After approving their Strategic Plan four years ago, Oxford County Council has gone over a report that sums up their end result.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Council has accomplished a lot over the past four years.
They went over a report called Delivering the Vision at their latest council meeting.
Chief Administrative Officer Peter Crockett says it details what they have done throughout their term and how it benefits the Strategic Plan they formed four years ago.
"We have advanced in terms of everything from 100 percent renewable energy, zero waste and zero poverty and taking a very serious look at our community wellbeing and where we are. From that we'll be able to get a really good handle on where we're able to go."
Here's a list of some of the other accomplishments;
- Constructing 386 new affordable housing units.
- Advancing the Trans Canada Trail extension connection through south Oxford.
- Installing over one megawatt of solar energy at County facilities.
- Creating 11 new electric vehicle charging stations with 26 charging units throughout the County.
Crockett says the report also has a note for the incoming council.
"One of the recommendations of the report was that we approach the 2018-2022 term of council with the view of hopefully establishing a Strategic Plan with their priorities so that we can use that to guide our recommendations to them and for them to guide their decisions over the next four years."
