A Woodstock man believes his invention could offer a better way to clear snow in the winter
A Woodstock man is looking to revolutionize the snow plow with his own invention - the Smart Plow.
The right side of the Smart Plow blade curves inwards along with an additional front panel to hold onto the snow for short periods of time. This allows plows to leave side entrances like driveways and bus stops clear of any snow whatsoever.
Mike Andic, Inventor of the Smart Plow, tells Heart FM how much money it should cost to get the project off the ground.
"We're looking between $3 million to $4 million to create the working prototype to be ready for production by that point. It should take between 12 to 15, possibly 18 months for it."
He adds the Smart Plow start up cost is relatively low compared to other projects out there with price tags around $10 million.
Andic says he would like to keep production in the Friendly City if possible.
"I would really love to keep it in Woodstock and create extra employment to make it as a world hub. Mind you when it comes to production, Woodstock won't be able to handle it so the labour pool would probably have to expand but at least I prefer to keep Woodstock as a world hub for the production."
