Minor baseball development continues, thanks to a Woodstock community grant.
It's another home run for minor baseball in Woodstock.
Last week, Woodstock City Council approved a $16,000 community grant to continue on with the "Home Run Project".
The WMBA Home Run Project is focused on the 4 bases of: Player Development; Coach Development; Umpire Development; and Safety. In 2014 the Home Run Project funding will allow WMBA coaches to meet new Baseball Ontario standards for coaching and will allow WMBA to create an Umpire Development System while continuing to support the player development and safety programs that are cornerstones of the project.
Past President of the Woodstock Minor Ball Association, Brent Peltola says, “The WMBA Home Run Project has been a great success in the first 2 seasons. Support from the Woodstock Community Grants Program has allowed WMBA to grow minor ball in Woodstock. Through the Home Run Project, WMBA has provided player skills development, umpire clinics, coaching clinics and safety training which make a better product for the youth in our community.”
Registration is underway for Woodstock Minor Baseball. Click here for details.
