The Century 21 Golden Gala continues to benefit local community organizations with an evening of dining, dancing and auction.
It was another 'golden' success.
The sold out, Century 21 Heritage House 13th Annual Golden Gala brought together close to 500 people Saturday night at the Oxford Auditorium.
Committee member and sales representative at Century 21 Woodstock, David Hilderley says their attendance numbers were up from the previous year.
Through ticket sales, a silent auction and a weekend getaway draw to the Westover Inn in St Marys, this year's event raised $75,000 for three local charities.
The beneficiaries, Alzheimer Society Oxford, Easter Seals Ontario and HUGO (Healthcare Undergoing Optimization) at Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll each received a cheque for $25,000 from the committee co-chairs, Jane Zyma and Linda Stewart, along with Century 21 manager, Nick Lalli.
The annual event broke the one-million dollar mark with approximately $1,090,000 raised over the past 13 years.
Hilderley said in the first year, the Gala raised $50,000 for the Canada Games and during the 10 years that they supported the Woodstock Hospital, they donated about $850,000 to the Foundation. Since then, they have added another $190,000.
Hilderley says "of course, this is all possible because of the thousands of attendees, generous support of community sponsors and the hard-working, dedicated Gala planning committees. We live in a wonderful community."
