A fundraising concert is taking place at the Moose Family Centre this weekend.
WOODSTOCK - Amberely Beatty and the Sweet Dreams will perform their Patsy Cline tribute show in Woodstock this weekend.
A Legendary Patsy Cline Christmas will take place at the Moose Family Centre Saturday night. Beatty has been performing her tribute shows for roughly 11 years now and says bringing it to the Friendly City is special for them with the addition of some local talent to the show. "It's most recently had some band members which is Fred Lewis and his band Ridin High with the addition of Kiley Masson who's quite famous around those parts as a local singer and I thought what better way to do than in their hometown and do something great for them. We've been touring all over the place, I've been State-side and as far up as Quebec."
Tickets for this show usually sell for $40 but for this event will be priced at $20. Concert-goers are asked to bring along non-perishable food items as well that will be donated to the local food bank, a cause Beatty says is near and dear to her heart because as a child, her mother relied on the support of food hampers. "I think that it's a wonderful thing, the food bank as well as we can give our time for half of our normal ticket price which is the 20-dollars, normally we charge double for this show in any theatre . So these people are going to get the same quality show as they would get going to a theatre, we don't sacrifice anything we absolutely give it one-hundred percent."
Prizes will be given out through the night including a prize for the Best Christmas Costume. Doors open at 6:30 pm with the show starting at 7:30 pm.
Beatty says their tribute show is definitely one-of-a-kind and they'd love to perform before a sold-out crowd Saturday night. "When Patsy Cline passed away she had done a charitable show literally the night before she passed away. We have basically made this show very much like it could have been her last performance. It is very much a concert, very much interactive and very high energy."
Tickets are available at the Moose Family Centre (Sutherland Drive) or Long & McQuade.
