WOODSTOCK - Tickets are now on sale for Theatre Woodstock's latest production; Steel Magnolias.
The dramedy centers around Truvy, Mary-Lynn, Louisa, Annelle, Clairee and Shelby and their friendship that was forged in a beauty salon.
Producer Kim Dilello says you can expect lots of laughs, but you should also have the tissues ready.
"It's about the struggles they go through in life and how this community of women comes together to support each other in a tragic situation."
Lots of people are familiar with the 80's film adaptation that stars Julia Roberts, Dolly Parton and Sally Field. Dilello says the movie script was actually based on a stage production.
"The play was the original script. It's a fair bit different in the sense of locations and what not because the play is only in the beauty salon, but the essence is the same."
Friday February 9th will be the opening night. They will also have a show on the Saturday and a matinee on the Sunday. The shows will continue on Thursday February 15th and the grand finale will be on the Saturday.
You can call the box office 519-537-2582 or visit the Theatre Woodstock website to purchase your tickets ahead of time. They will also be sold at the door.
