UPDATE: The highway has been re-opened. Six people suffered minor injuries in the crash. Icy conditions are causing issues on the local roads this morning. Oxford OPP say a multi vehicle collision involving 4 tractor trailers and 2 cars shortly before 4:00 am has forced the closure of the westbound lanes on the 401 near Woodstock. Police say the crash, that occurred at the County Road 22 overpass caused only minor injuries with six people being transported to the Woodstock hospital. There was also a small diesel fuel leak from one of the trucks but the Ministry of Environment say they do not need to attend the scene for the clean up. The 401 westbound lanes are closed between Cedar Creek Road/Hwy #97 and Oxford Road/Highway 2. Detours are in place and motorists say there are major delays in that area. OPP hope to have the highway reopened around 9:00 am. Callers are also reporting a number of crashes on the 401 between Woodstock and London in the Putnam and Dorchester areas. No closures being reported at this time however traffic is very slow moving. Oxford Road 5 is also closed due to flooding.
