OPP caught London man driving 165 km/h on the 401 in Southwest Oxford
SOUTHWEST OXFORD -- A London man is facing a number of charges after police nabbed him at a high rate of speed on the 401.
On Sunday, police say they clocked the man travelling 165 km/h east of Plank Line in Southwest Oxford.
24 year-old Ali Fazal was stopped by an officer and charged with racing a motor vehicle, careless driving and failing to surrender a permit for motor vehicle.
OPP say at the time of the incident there was heavy rain in the region which could cause treacherous conditions on the roadways.
Police remind motorists that during inclement weather, the higher the speed the more severe the collision and the more likely that serious injuries or death will occur.
