Vuteq workers join together to help those in need
The Filipino work force at Vuteq in Woodstock is looking to give back to their homeland.
The company presented the local Rotary club with a cheque for $4005 donated by the workers for relief efforts.
President of the Rotary Club of Woodstock-Oxford Kevin Clarke says $70,000 has already been raised locally.
"We have funds going over to the Philippines to the non-publicized areas to help out the people that really need it in the more remote areas. We are working with who we would consider other Rotarians, trusted friends of our Rotary club to make sure the proper aid, food, water, is getting distributed."
"At this time right now, we are looking at relief of food, shelter, water, we are also looking at a little more long term as help with shelter. Some of these communities are fishing villages, maybe to help repair boats so they can get their livelihood back and start to build their community. So we are looking at all avenues where there is need."
