With an incredible lineup of entertainment and delicious food, the 10th annual event is expected to be their best yet as they reach a milestone year.
BRANTFORD - The Brantford Kinsmen is hosting their annual Ribfest once again in August.
Plenty of vendors will be on hand this year, along with some live entertainment.
Entertainment Coordinator John Harding says this is a milestone for them.
"We're pretty fortunate in this region to have a lot of great bands, so we've got the best in local and regional entertainment. Route 6 on Friday night kicking off the live entertainment, the event starts at 4 o'clock on Friday, August 9 but the entertainment doesn't start until 6. And then Freedom Train are our headliners in the Friday evening from 8:30 to 10:30."
He says there will be five rib vendors this year, many of whom have been with the event for the entire decade, including Bad Wolf Barbeque, Brickyard BBQ and Crazy Canuck Smokers.
There will also be a children's area too. Harding says it's all happening at Cockshutt Park.
"The kids zone, it is provided by our friends at Air Bounce Inflatables and they bring about 10 bouncy castles in, which is really cool. Over the past couple of years they've switched up some of the other ones. There was air laser tag last year which was really cool, that one will probably be back and they also bring in a rock wall as well and do a rock wall challenge."
An escape room, along with a mini train ride and a mechanical bull will be among the activities available.
Several awards will also be given out, including best sauce, best ribs and the people's choice award.
The event is free and donations are accepted at the gate, with proceeds going towards different local charities.
