This is the story of the three Magrath sisters who have gathered to await news of the family patriarch, their grandfather, who is living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny, Meg, and Babe, have serious, yet somehow hilarious troubles, highlighted by their priggish cousin, Chick, and the young lawyer who tries to keep Babe out of jail while helpless not to fall in love with her. This is a touching and humorous story of how characters escape their pasts to seize the future.
